Caption: It just didn't seem right to put a cat to sleep who was purring and rubbing his nose in my belly and elbow on the exam table. Although he hadn't purred in 12 plus hours when I tried to pet him, as soon as we got to the vet lobby, he purred the whole time we were there. I know that it is common for cats to purr when they are in extreme pain and on death's door sometimes, but he was also kneading on the towel that was under him and rubbing his cheek on the open cage door, acting like normal. He was bright-eyed and was not weak. But I knew it had to be done. A cat who stops eating when on prednisolone is a big deal. The doctor said the tumor in his small intestine was lime sized! Thank you to everybody for your condolences. you guys are great. There are many animal lovers here at Wonderground and you guys are so supportive. Thank you to everybody who said he was beautiful. We never thought of him as beautiful. We always thought of him as ordinary looking but he was a really sweet, loving guy who got along with all the other cats. His favorite thing to do whenever we talked to him was to plop over on his back, put paws in the air, while kneading and say a throaty 'eh' and many other lovey sounds.
