Avdat, Israel

Caption: Avdat (300 BCE to 700 CE) was a Nabataean City in the middle of the desert on the road between Gaza to Petra. The Nabataeans had a special agricultural method that allowed them to use dew water to grow food in this dry area. The city was later occupied by the Roman and the the Byzantines till it was destroyed by earthquake. Some claim this place as the origin the Islam and the birthplace of the Prophet Mohammed
