We have some trees turning red already in PA too. Yes, too early. I wonder, if this indicates a cold winter ahead? Nature starts to prepare for it .....

Thanks so much, Ann and Kathy! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this tree turning red in July already, but then remembered it's turned early other years too. It's internal clock must just be set different than the other trees. :-)

Sometimes when trees turn early, it's because they have some problem which is affecting their health. However, that's probably not the case with this one; as far north as you are, it's just plain turning early. Enjoy it, Kathy, LOL!

About minnesotamom

Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in northern Minnesota, USA, where the winter temps have dipped down to -60º below zero F. The summers used to be mild but in recent years have been up in the 90ºs. I love being able to travel the world from my office chair, through all your great photos! I've learned tons about photography and editing photos thanks to all the great people on here and their willingness to share tips. Thank you to all you Wunderfriends who take time to look and leave notes---I deeply appreciate it. :-)
