Notice how a wide angle lens caused the church building to lean, and the wall on the right to lean slightly, while the cross at dead center is upright.

Nicely captured, seeing this picture brings a really neat song by Jeff Larson to mind, his lyrics vividly painted a picture of this historical sight for sure. Here is the video of his song along with pictures. Thanks for sharing this with us, Congrats on your AC!

Thanks for the kind comments! For more information on the image, I was shooting between 11pm - 12am; this particular image was taken at 11:57 PM. While I do have a lightning trigger that allows me to capture lightning strikes, for this photo shoot I just shot continuous 20 second exposures at about f/8 ISO400 because the lightning strikes were so frequent.

ps  How did you get the lightning to strike at just the right nano second?  OR how many pix did you have to take to get it?

Beautiful lighting.  However did you do that?  Oh, sunset ... plus a storm in the background?  Interesting combination.

As a former astronomer I am an avid sky watcher. I have lived in New Mexico for a dozen years and am constantly amazed by the beautiful skies. My favorite subjects to photograph are the skies of course, cats (I rescue strays), and robots (I have a HUGE collection).
