Curtain Call

Uploaded by: katy99780

Tok, AK (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Waves and curtains, not very well 'organized' or intense; more like a wash across the sky, wee hours this morning.

Pleiades just lower than center, what is that bright 'star' (probably a planet) to the upper left?

Thank you N4WPP and Dave. Dave I agree, I think it's Jupiter.

I got to see this once in my life while visiting northern Canada. I envy you being where you can see this beautiful light show often.
By the way, thanks for your comment on the owl I have posted here. I was surprised one night when I stepped outside and was face to face with the owl. I didn't have any light except the light from the kitchen window so the photo was grainy. I think the owl was as surprised as myself as it sat for several pictures before flying away.9

I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
