Thanks Michal. No the road isn't as bad as the media-hype presents it to be. It is long and slow, and a bit rough in places. Steep climbs and pitches, but really not nearly as bad as 20-30 years ago.

Since it is very isolated though, one must prepare, and not be foolish.

Sunshine 24 hours a day, that must be nice :)
That road isn't bad in comparison with some of our roads in Poland.

I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
