I am a charter boat captain who "takes the girls to the beach". www.offislandAdventures.com So naturally in my line of work I need to know what the weather is doing for the sake of a good tour. I have always been amazed by the awe and beauty of the weather here in my islands of the Bahamas, espeacially in the summer time when the hurricanes are moving around. My first memories of hurricanes are of Hurricane David in 1979 and I have been thru quite a few storms since then, hence the name Canelane as the Bahamas is right in the hurricane lanes. Here is a list of storms I can remember after David. TS-Chris 1988, H-Andrew 1992, H-Erin 1995,H-Lili 1996(was in the eye, very scary to say the least),H-Floyd 1999, H-Michelle 2001, H-Frances 2004, TS-Katrina 2005, TS-Rita 2005, TS-Noel 2007, TS-Bonnie 2010, H-Irene 2011, TS-Isaac 2012, H-Sandy 2012 and counting!!
