Hello from the far northern part of California. My name is Lori and I live in a little place called Scott Valley, just below the Oregon border. I so enjoy looking at all the beautiful photos here everyday on this site. They inspire me to try and improve my skills. Any helpful criticism is always appreciated as there are so many here I admire and learn from - just by viewing the amazing photos. Thanks for sharing your pointers and thanks for sharing your little corner of the world too!

Caption: Kickback from the Whites fire and looming thunderhead threats created an awesome sight on the Kidder Creek drainage. This is all part oaf the complex called the July complex - which I have to admit I am not happy to be part of. The people in the Whites' fire area went from advisory to mandatory evacuation and my heart goes out to them. It also took away most of the air strike we had yesterday - and understandably so. Thanks to all of your emails asking after us. We are still 'good'.
