As far as I know it is some kind of carp, but I am not a fisher and I do not know a lot about fishes.
This harbour is no longer connected with the river, De Oude Maas.

Just wondering what kind of fish this is. Not a brown trout or pike. I just read the fishing liscense info for your area and read this: From April 1 until the last Saturday of May the use of certain types of bait is prohibited across the Netherlands:

Worms (or imitation worms) and offal
Live or dead bait fish, a chunk of fish (irrespective of its size)
Any type of artificial bait or lure apart from artificial flies smaller than 25mm
why is this? Sure doesn't leave much else to use does it? Neat to learn new things. :)

About Mooween

My name is Johanna (Hannie for short) And I live in Spijkenisse, near Rotterdam in the Netherlands. It is only since May 2004 that I have a digital camera and that makes it a lot easyer to send images per e-mail or otherwise. Before, my favorite camera was an Asahi Pentax K1000. I still use it, but I have to scan the photographs first. This is a lot better. Do read my blog too!
