LOL Don! Only BEGINNING? What's a gardener to do for six months of a typical Minnesota winter? Here, there can be at least some flowers or other color all 12 months of the year, and on mild days during the winter, which is a lot of them, I can be outdoors working in my garden. Even if I'm not planting, I can be doing structural work -- weeding, turning over the soil, starting new beds, putting in rock walls or flagstone walkways, and so on. Come on down and I'll show you.

I'm beginning to understand why you like the weather in North Carolina better than in Minnesota. All our flowers are either in hibernation or dead.

Such a pretty color! I have often thought of planting some of this kale, but have never gotten around to doing it. :-(
