A Life long Alaskan and a 3'rd generation Alaskan to boot, I enjoy snowmachining, aviation, and photography. I got into amateur photography over the past 5 years and am always learning. I like to say any good picture I take is a mistake and I've made a few mistakes in my life. One of my favorite things to make in photography is panoramic pictures. It takes special software to create them and large format printers to produce them. I have also learned the art and craft of matting and framing my own work so now I have several large panoramic prints hanging around my office and house. Create your own visitor map!

Caption: I have been watching this classic Cessna 195 hanging out around the local floatplane base Lake Hood for quite a few years now. I believe it’s about a 1949 model or so research on the internet shows. It is a design from a more elegant time with the classic radial engine and more rounded features versus the more squared, streamlined and chiseled look in comparison of the later and more modern Cessna models to follow like the 180’s and what not. This bird mad it’s showing for the weekend at the Alaska Airmen’s Trade Show. There were so many people in attendance that it took quite a while to get a shot of the plane with no one over taking a closer look at it. Many other planes were there but it was just too hard to get a picture of the planes without the onlookers.
