Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 4:40 AM CDT Aug. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 830 am CDT for northern
York... northeastern Hamilton... central Merrick and Polk counties...

At 420 am CDT, trained weather spotters reported street flooding in
Osceola. Radar indicates that an additional round of thunderstorms
has pushed rainfall totals as high as three and a half inches in
parts of the Polk County.

Flooding impacts from this rainfall will likely be similar to last
Tuesday night in some areas... especially in Polk County. Streams
will likely rise out of their banks, and low water crossings may be
under water.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
