Special Statement
Issued: 3:38 PM HST Aug. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flooding possible through mid-week...

The highest high tides of the month will continue through Wednesday.
These tides will roll in on top of sea levels raised by an eddy
moving through the area. Water levels around the islands are
running as much as a foot above the values shown by tide
predictions.

Peak water levels will occur during the afternoons and evenings
through Wednesday. During this time, you may encounter flooding
of beach areas that are normally dry, inundation of docks, boat
ramps and other coastal infrastructure. Be prepared for salt water
covering some roads.

Coastal flooding will end during the second half of next week as
the peak daily tides diminish.
