Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 1:05 PM MDT Aug. 30, 2016 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
southeastern El Paso County in western Texas...
west central Hudspeth County in western Texas...

* until 400 PM MDT

* at 102 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated an area of steady moderate
to heavy rain over the Lower Valley and the I-10 corridor from
near Tornillo southeast to Acala. Over an inch of rain has fallen
in some areas. While the heavy rain has been along I-10 and not in
the valley, runoff from higher ground will work into arroyos,
which may lead to flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Tornillo...
and Acala.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos... streams... and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes... even from distant rainfall.
