Issued: 2:30 AM PST Jan. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Small Craft Advisory remains in effect until 9 am PST this
morning...
... Gale Warning remains in effect from 9 am this morning to 3 PM
PST this afternoon...

* winds... south 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt increasing to
20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt today. Strongest winds will
be near Cape Mendocino. Winds will diminish tonight.

* Waves/seas... south building to 12 to 14 feet around 14 seconds today.
Seas will build to around 25 feet or higher around 18 seconds on
Friday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners... especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
