...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND POOR RECOVERIES FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 417, 418, 419, 420, 421, 422, 423, 424, 425, 426, 427, 428, 429, 430, 431, 432, AND 433... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 417 through 433. * WIND...West to northwest winds from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph west of I-25, with shifting and much more variable winds expected east of I-25. * HUMIDITY...RH values between 8 and 14 percent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Isolated high-based showers will have the potential to produce gusty and erratic winds along with a few strikes of lightning without much, if any, rainfall during the afternoon and evening hours. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly.
