THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 588 IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN NEBRASKA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN PANHANDLE NEBRASKA BOX BUTTE DAWES SIOUX IN WYOMING THIS WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL WYOMING CONVERSE NIOBRARA THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF AGATE, ALLIANCE, BILL, CHADRON, CHADRON ST PARK, DEER CREEK, DOUGLAS, GLENROCK, HARRISON, HEMINGFORD, LUSK, AND REDBIRD.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN CONVERSE COUNTY THROUGH 315 PM MDT... At 237 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles east of Edgerton, or 33 miles southeast of Kaycee, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Converse County. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. && MAX HAIL SIZE...0.50 IN; MAX WIND GUST...55 MPH

Fire weather zone 427. * WIND...West to northwest winds sustained 15 to 20 mph with gusts around 30 mph expected. * HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
