...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT
TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow occurring. Additional snow
accumulations between 3 and 8 inches. Locally higher snowfall up to
12 inches possible for the higher hills and Wolf Mountains. Winds
gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...In Montana, Bighorn Canyon, Southern Big Horn, and Southern
Rosebud. In Wyoming, Sheridan Foothills.

* WHEN...Until midnight MDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult including I-90 and US-212
due to snow, blowing snow and poor visibility. Cool, wet and windy
conditions will be hazardous for young livestock.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Localized blizzard conditions are being
reported. The worst conditions are occurring west of Sheridan along
the foothills. This includes the cities of Ranchester, Dayton, and
Story. Conditions are expected to improve throughout the afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. For the latest road conditions, call
5 1 1.

Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm
kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster
cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take
water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive
in case you become stranded.
