NORTHERN CALHOUN...NORTHERN MASON...SOUTHWESTERN RITCHIE...NORTHERN GILMER...WEST CENTRAL LEWIS...WIRT...NORTHWESTERN ROANE...JACKSON AND SOUTHWESTERN WOOD COUNTIES... A cluster of heavy showers producing rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour will continue to shift slowly to the east-southeast this evening. Locations impacted include... Point Pleasant, Ripley, Spencer, Pomeroy, Glenville, Elizabeth, Racine, Grantsville, Ravenswood, New Haven, Mason, Sandyville, Middleport, Syracuse, Hartford City, Henderson, Reedy, Cheshire, Cherry, and Smithville. This includes Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 131 and 165. Heavy rain may cause ponding of water on roadways and flooding in low-lying areas. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away. &&
