COUNTIES THROUGH 115 PM EDT...

At 1235 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Buffalo to Proctorville. Movement was east
at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Huntington, Winfield, Chesapeake, Proctorville, Hurricane,
Barboursville, Milton, Eleanor, Buffalo, Ona, Culloden, Teays Valley,
Bancroft, Crown City, Athalia, Liberty, Ashton, Pea Ridge, Green
Bottom, and Fraziers Bottom.

This includes Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 14
and 42.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.

West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection - Air Quality
Division has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Fine
Particulates for West Virgina until midnight EDT tonight. Elevated
fine particulate matter levels are anticipated to drop as the day
goes on today.

A code Orange air quality alert means members of sensitive groups
may experience health effects. The general public is less likely to
be affected, but sensitive groups should take additional precautions.
These groups include children, the elderly, and people suffering
from asthma, heart disease, or other lung diseases. The effects of
air pollution can be minimized by avoiding outdoor exercise or
strenuous activity.
