Southern Fayette County in southeastern West Virginia... * Until 515 PM EDT. * At 436 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Bradley to near Welch, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damage to vehicles is expected. * Locations impacted include... Beckley, Welch, Pineville, Mullens, Mount Hope, Mabscott, Sophia, Northfork, Crab Orchard, Dry Creek, Macarthur, Bradley, Shady Spring, Beaver, Piney View, Stanaford, Coal City, Prosperity, Twin Falls State Park, and Daniels. This includes the following highways... West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 28 and 57. Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 120 and 137. Route 19 between mile markers 1 and 8. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. At 417 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles south of Burnwell to 9 miles northeast of Oceana. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include...
