...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN DANE AND NORTHERN JEFFERSON COUNTIES THROUGH 330 PM CDT... At 226 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms capable of producing funnel clouds along a line extending from near Waunakee to Lac La Belle. Movement was south at 15 mph. HAZARD...Funnel clouds and wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Madison, Sun Prairie, Fitchburg, Watertown, Middleton, Waunakee, Jefferson, McFarland, Monona, Windsor, Lake Mills, Marshall, Waterloo, Deforest, Cottage Grove, Johnson Creek, Deerfield, Shorewood Hills, Cambridge, and Maple Bluff. This includes the following highways... Interstate 39/90/94 between mile markers 128 and 137. U.S. Highway 18 near mile marker 84. U.S. Highway 12 between mile markers 249 and 273. U.S. Highway 151 between mile markers 98 and 107. Interstate 39/90 between mile markers 138 and 146. Interstate 94 between mile markers 241 and 278. Wisconsin Highway 26 between mile markers 27 and 43. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph.
