...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Wisconsin, including the following counties, Jefferson, Milwaukee, Racine, Walworth and Waukesha. * WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 650 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.1 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Milwaukee, Waukesha, West Allis, Wauwatosa, New Berlin, Brookfield, Greenfield, Menomonee Falls, Oak Creek, Muskego, South Milwaukee, Cudahy, Whitewater, Whitefish Bay, Greendale, Pewaukee, Brown Deer, Sussex, Elkhorn and St. Francis. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... The Tensfeldt Park boat launch is closed. Intersection of S Main St and E Dane St is closed, and S Center Ave. Floodwaters affect highway K between Jefferson and Fort Atkinson. River's Edge Park flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 9.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early this morning and continue rising to 12.2 feet early Monday morning.
