Special Weather Statement
Issued: 1:18 PM May. 4, 2026 – National Weather Service
...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS MID MORNING THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON... Temperatures warming into the low to mid 70s, along with southwest winds gusting 35 to 40 mph, and RH values of 25 to 35 percent will result in elevated fire weather conditions today. The gusty winds could cause sporadic tree damage, leading to power line fires. The potential for wildfires will be most favored where fine fuels have dried out and where green up is not as advanced. Please check burning restrictions and fire danger before doing any burning today. For more information on burning restrictions for Wisconsin, see apps.dnr.wi.gov/wisburn.
