...EXTREME HEAT WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM MONDAY TO 9 PM CDT TUESDAY... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 105 to 110 degrees expected. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and central, southwest, and west central Wisconsin. * WHEN...From 8 AM Monday to 9 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warm conditions are forecast today over northeast Iowa. A Heat Advisory may eventually be needed. Thunderstorms Sunday night and Monday could limit heating which would reduce the risk of heat-related illness. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles.
