...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE... * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Rock River at Afton. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 12.2 feet, There is widespread flooding in the Afton and Janesville areas. Numerous roads and streets adjacent to the river are closed including South River Road on the south side of Janesville, several blocks of Joseph and Charles Streets, a portion of Main Street, and North Loop Road at Traxler Park. The on-ramp to Memorial Drive is closed as is a portion of Riverside Drive. Traxler Park off of Memorial Drive in Janesville is flooded and closed. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 11.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 PM CDT Saturday was 12.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to 12.2 feet Saturday, April 25. In Illinois, Winslow Rd is threatened near the river between Durand and Shirland. Lamp Road on west side of river also becomes flooded. Lake Koshkonong merges with Mud Lake to the east of Lake Koshkonong. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 10.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:00 PM CDT Saturday was 10.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to 12.0 feet early Friday morning.
