...AIR QUALITY ADVISORY ISSUED FOR NORTH-CENTRAL...CENTRAL AND PORTIONS OF FAR NORTHEAST WISCONSIN... The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an Air Quality Advisory for the following counties in north-central, central and far northeast Wisconsin: Florence, Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Vilas and Wood. * WHAT...The PM2.5 AQI is expected to reach the Unhealthy level for Sensitive Groups. * WHERE...North-central, central and far northeast Wisconsin * WHEN...Midnight Monday night through noon on Tuesday * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... Heavy surface smoke will move into Wisconsin from the northwest overnight Monday, likely reaching the MN/WI border between midnight and 3 AM Tuesday. Unhealthy AQI PM2.5 is forecast, with chances to see spikes in the Very Unhealthy AQI range. The front will continue to slowly move from northwest to southeast throughout the day on Tuesday, with smoke impacts eventually becoming statewide. This advisory will be updated by noon Tuesday to reflect the movement of the smoke into southeast Wisconsin. At this time, we anticipate a statewide advisory for PM2.5 from noon Tuesday until noon Wednesday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Sensitive groups: Consider rescheduling or moving all activities inside. Go inside if you have symptoms. People with asthma: Follow your asthma action plan and keep quick-relief medicine handy. People with heart disease: Symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue may indicate a serious problem. If you have any of these, contact your health care provider.
