...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Rock River at Afton.

* WHEN...Until early Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, Floodwaters affect property of a home on
South Christian Road on the east side of the river in the Afton
area.  There is minor erosional flood damage to lowland and
agricultural land in the Afton and Janesville areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 9.5 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:00 AM CDT Monday was 9.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Thursday morning and continue falling to 8.2 feet Monday, May
11.
- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
9.6 feet on 03/14/1985.

* WHERE...Rock River near Lake Koshkonong.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Floodwaters affect homes and boat docks in
the Blackhawk Island area of Lake Koshkonong on the north side of
the lake. Floodwaters spread over low spots on Blackhawk Island
Road in the area where the Rock River enters the lake.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 10.2 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:00 AM CDT Monday was 10.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Wednesday morning and continue falling to 9.1 feet
Monday, May 11.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY...

Warm, dry and breezy conditions today will lead to an elevated
concern for fire weather across southern WI. Given recent rains
and green up largely being complete, it is not thought that fuels
are at a near critical level but the weather conditions are. Highs
in the upper 70s, relative humidities falling to the 20-30 percent
range and sustained winds around 15-20 mph with gusts to 35 mph
all contribute to the increased fire weather concerns.
