EVENING...

* WHAT...Dense smoke will reduce visibility to less than 1 NM.

* WHERE...Green Bay south of line from Oconto WI to Little
Sturgeon Bay WI, Sturgeon Bay to Two Rivers WI and Two Rivers
to Sheboygan WI.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Low visibility will make navigation difficult.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must navigate, proceed with caution. Use proper fog
signals. Make sure all running lights are on. Remember to use
your radar and compass.

Air Quality Alert
Issued: 3:25 PM Jul. 17, 2026 – National Weather Service
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has extended the Air
Quality Advisory for the following counties: Brown, Calumet, Door,
Florence, Forest, Kewaunee, Langlade, Manitowoc, Marinette,
Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca, Winnebago.

WHAT...The PM2.5 AQI is expected to reach the Unhealthy for
Sensitive Groups (Orange) to Unhealthy (Red) level.

WHERE...Eastern Wisconsin.

WHEN...From noon until 6 p.m.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:
Sensitive groups: Consider rescheduling or moving all activities
inside. Go inside if you have symptoms.

People with asthma: Follow your asthma action plan and keep
quick-relief medicine handy.

People with heart disease: Symptoms such as palpitations,
shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue may indicate a serious
problem. If you have any of these, contact your health care
provider.

Everyone else: Keep outdoor activities shorter and less intense.
Go inside if you have symptoms.

Additional Details:
A statewide Air Quality Advisory will remain in effect until noon
today. Clearing of the smoke is expected from west to east, but
eastern areas will continue to see impacts beyond noon, which this
advisory addresses.
