...CONDITIONS FAVORABLE FOR COLD AIR FUNNELS LATE THIS
AFTERNOON...

An upper level disturbance will produce weather conditions that
are favorable for cold air funnel clouds late this afternoon.

These relatively weak funnels typically form under a small shower
or thunderstorm and rarely touch the ground. They normally extend
a few hundred feet downward from the base of the cloud and last a
few minutes before dissipating.

On occasion, these funnels can briefly touch the ground as a weak
tornado, but these types of tornadoes are usually not as strong
as those that form with severe thunderstorms.

In addition, a few thunderstorms may pose a threat of cloud to
ground lightning and small hail.

If you see a thunderstorm or funnel cloud approaching your
location, seek shelter indoors.
