Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. For the Ice Storm Warning, significant icing expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of one half to 3 inches and ice accumulations up to one half of an inch. * WHERE...Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band, the Red Cliff Band and the Bad River Reservation. Other locations including the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and Madeline Island. * WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 7 AM CDT this morning. For the Ice Storm Warning, from 4 PM this afternoon to 10 AM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The timeframe of heaviest ice accumulations will be Friday evening and Friday night. The freezing rain threat should end by late Saturday morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.
