...EXTREME HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures around 95 to 100 degrees F possible. * WHERE...Western and Central Columbia River Gorge, Portland Metro Lowlands, Inner Vancouver Metro, and East Clark County Lowlands. * WHEN...From Monday morning through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warming trend on Monday and Tuesday with urban heat impacts possible. Overnight temperatures will be warmest on Monday night into Tuesday morning ranging from 63-65 degrees F. Tuesday into Wednesday will be similar in the most urban areas. Onshore flow will provide some potential relief Tuesday night. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in a cool place during the heat of the day, stay out of the sunshine, and check up on relatives and neighbors. For those without air conditioning, use fans to keep air moving. Keeps windows closed during the day and open at night, unless air quality is degraded due to wildfire smoke. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. &&
