Waters Strait Of Juan De Fuca. * WHEN...Until 4 AM PST Friday. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions. &&

...HEAVY RAINFALL THIS WEEK HAS LED TO AN INCREASED THREAT OF LANDSLIDES IN WESTERN WASHINGTON... Significant rainfall over the past week has increased soil moisture to high levels across western Washington. This significant rain will continue to put extra pressure on soil instability, leading to an increased threat of landslides and debris flows, especially from recent burned areas, with additional rainfall acting as a trigger. Numerous landslides have already occurred in Whatcom, Skagit, King Counties and others. More landslides continue to be possible. Areas most susceptible to landslides debris flows under these conditions are steep coastal bluffs, other steep hillsides or road cuts, and recent burned areas. A diminishing threat of landslides and debris flows will continue for several days after the rain ends.
