An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the following agencies: Washington Department of Ecology Colville Confederated Tribes An Air Quality Alert has been issued for all of Asotin, Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Garfield, Grant, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties through Monday at 11 am, due to current and expected wildfire smoke from regional fires. Areas to the north and northeast of active and emerging fires in Washington and Oregon could reach Unhealthy levels of particulate matter (PM2.5). When air quality is unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and follow tips for cleaner indoor air.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 10 PM PDT SATURDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 707... The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM to 10 PM PDT Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * Affected Area: Western Columbia Basin (Zone 707). * Winds: Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * Relative Humidities: 15 to 21 percent. * Impacts: Strong winds and low humidity Saturday may lead to very rapid fire spread with any new or ongoing fires. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. &&
