...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TUESDAY TO 8 PM PDT WEDNESDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 707, 708, AND 709... The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 1 PM Tuesday to 8 PM PDT Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * Affected Area: Western Columbia Basin (Zone 707), Eastern Columbia Basin -Palouse -Spokane Area (Zone 708) and Lower Palouse -Snake River (Zone 709). * Winds: Tuesday: West to southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph. Wednesday: West to southwest 15 to 25 mph gusts around 40 mph. * Relative Humidities: 8 to 15 percent on Tuesday. 18 to 25 percent on Wednesday. * Impacts: Rapid fire spread is likely with any new fires. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. &&
