...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE... The Washington State Department of Ecology and/or the Yakima Regional Clean Air Agency has issued an Air Quality Alert.. until further notice. A Smoke Air Quality Alert has been issued. Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels. Particulate mater (PM2.5) levels may reach Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups in the region. When air quality is unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and follow tips for cleaner indoor air. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition.
