...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...High temperatures mainly in the 90s except near 100F in the Lewiston area * WHERE...Fairfield, Ephrata, Creston, Peck, Odessa, Culdesac, Wilbur, Gifford, Moses Lake, Rockford, Alpowa Summit, Lapwai, Lewiston, Airway Heights, Spokane Valley, Pomeroy, Ritzville, Downtown Spokane, Harrington, Coulee City, Davenport, Clarkston, Grand Coulee, Lewiston Grade, Othello, Cheney, and Quincy. * WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. &&

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 11 PM PDT MONDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 699, 702, 704, 705, 706, AND 707... * Affected Area: Okanogan Highlands and Kettle Mountains (Zone 699), Colville Reservation (Zone 702), Methow Valley (Zone 704), Foothills of Central Washington Cascades (Zone 705), Waterville Plateau (Zone 706) and Western Columbia Basin (Zone 707). * Winds: West to northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Local gusts to 55 mph on the Waterville Plateau. * Relative Humidities: 17 to 25 percent. * Impacts: Rapid fire spread is likely with any or existing fires. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly.
