THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...For the Gale Warning, seas 9 to 14 ft at 12 seconds and
southwest winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt. For the
Hazardous Seas Watch, very steep and hazardous seas 10 to 15 ft
at 13 seconds and southwest winds 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to
25 kt possible.

* WHERE...In the Main Channel of the Columbia River Bar.

* WHEN...Gale Warning, until 11 PM PST this evening. Hazardous
Seas Watch, from 11 PM PST this evening through Thursday
afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ebb current of 4.57 kt at 639 AM Wednesday.
Seas 9 to 11 ft. Ebb current of 3.94 kt at 643 PM Wednesday.
Seas 11 to 14 ft. Ebb current of 4.58 kt at 710 AM Thursday.
Seas 10 ft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
