An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the following agencies: Washington Department of Ecology An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Grant, and Okanogan Counties until further notice due to current and expected smoke from regional fires. Particulate matter (PM2.5) may reach Unhealthy levels for areas downwind from active wildfires. Be sure to check air monitors in your area before outdoor activities. When air quality is Unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and follow tips for cleaner indoor air.

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING FOR THUNDERSTORMS AND WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 703... * Affected Area: Okanogan Valley (Zone 703). * Thunderstorms: Scattered showers and thunderstorms Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. * Timing of Thunderstorms: Best chances for thunderstorms are from 11 AM Saturday morning through 8 AM Sunday morning. * Outflow Winds: Gusty outflow wind gusts up to 50 mph. * Impacts: Lightning strikes will have the potential to start new fires, and gusty and erratic outflow winds could cause dangerous conditions around new and existing wildfires. * General Winds: South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts around 30 to 40 mph. * Timing of General Winds: Peak general winds will be seen from noon to 10 PM Saturday. * Relative Humidities: 20 to 25 percent. * Impacts: Rapid fire spread is possible with any new or ongoing fires. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside.
