Special Weather Statement
Issued: 5:54 PM Apr. 27, 2026 – National Weather Service
...NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED TUESDAY... The combination of south to southeast wind gusts as high as 20-25 mph, relative humidity values dropping as low as 25 to 35 percent, and dry fine fuels will lead to near critical weather conditions tomorrow across southern Vermont. If any fires were to start, the weather and fuel conditions could cause fires to quickly get out of control and be difficult to contain. For more information on the current fire danger rating, burn restrictions, and wildfire prevention and education, please visit the Vermont state forestry website.
