Special Weather Statement
Issued: 8:45 AM Mar. 10, 2026 – National Weather Service
...Patchy Black Ice Through 9 AM This Morning... Significant snowmelt yesterday, combined with temperatures falling below freezing overnight, has allowed patchy black ice to form on untreated ground surfaces across portions of the southern Adirondacks, the Mohawk Valley, the Lake George Saratoga region, Taconics and western New England. Motorists traveling in these areas through 9 AM this morning should allow extra time to reach their destination and be prepared to encounter patches of black ice. Bridges, overpasses and highway on and off ramps will be particularly vulnerable to patches of black ice. In addition, untreated walkways and parking lots may also become very slippery for pedestrians.
