...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast North Carolina, including the
following areas, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Eastern Currituck, Gates,
Hertford, Pasquotank, Perquimans and Western Currituck and
Virginia, including the following areas, Caroline, Charles City,
Chesapeake, Dinwiddie, Eastern Chesterfield (Including Col.
Heights), Eastern Essex, Eastern Hanover, Eastern Henrico, Eastern
King William, Eastern King and Queen, Eastern Louisa, Fluvanna,
Gloucester, Goochland, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, James
City, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent, Newport News,
Norfolk/Portsmouth, Northumberland, Powhatan, Prince George
(including Hopewell and Petersburg), Richmond, Southampton,
Suffolk, Surry, Sussex, Virginia Beach, Western Chesterfield,
Western Essex, Western Hanover, Western Henrico (Including the
City of Richmond), Western King William, Western King and Queen,

* WHEN...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected this
afternoon and evening. A very moist airmass and strong
instability suggest high rainfall rates of 2-4" per hour will
be possible. These rainfall amounts could fall on areas that
have received signifcant rainfall over the past week,
exacerbating any flooding impacts.
