* At 523 AM EST, a moderate-to-heavy snow squall was located along a
line extending from central Montgomery County MD to northern
Loudoun County VA, moving southeast at 25 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated and surface observations.

IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly
higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could
suffer significant damage in high winds.

Potomac Creek, Nanjemoy Creek, Reagan National Airport, Swan Point,
Gunston Hall, Occoquan Bay, Popes Creek, Maryland Point, Port
Tobacco River, Colonial Beach, Leesylvania State Park, Mathias
Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, Mason Neck State Park,
Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Indian Head, Fort Hunt, Brent Point,
Quantico, and Westmoreland State Park.

...BRIEF PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOW SHOWERS EARLY THIS MORNING...

A line of snow showers will pass through the area along a cold
front between 515 AM and 7 AM. The heavier snow showers will last
about 10 minutes with visibilities locally reduced to near one-
half miles Snow may coat the ground and temperatures will quickly
fall below freezing behind this line. Therefore, any wet or
slushy untreated surfaces may become icy heading into the early
morning commute. Wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph are possible directly
along this line and behind it.

Please use extra caution if you are travelling during this time.
Drive slowly and leave plenty of distance between you and the
vehicle in front of you so you are prepared for any sudden changes
in visibility.
