In west central Virginia, the City of Roanoke. * WHEN...Until 630 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying, urban, and other poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 410 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to earlier thunderstorms. Minor flooding is expected in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain had fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Bore Auger Creek, Back Creek, Roanoke River, Gum Spring Branch, Kates Creek and Murray Run. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Roanoke... Vinton... Stewartsville...
