...GUSTY WINDS WILL IMPACT EASTERN STOKES...NORTHWESTERN ROCKINGHAM...CENTRAL FLOYD...EAST CENTRAL CARROLL...WESTERN HENRY...PATRICK AND SOUTHWESTERN FRANKLIN COUNTIES AND THE CITY OF MARTINSVILLE THROUGH 945 PM EDT... At 921 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported gusty winds along a line extending from near Laurel Fork to Patrick Springs to near Dillard. Winds are orginating from a gust front from a dying thunderstorm in Stokes County. Trees were reported down in the Pinnacle area of southwest Stokes County due to these winds. Movement was northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Law enforcement. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Caswell, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin, Virginia, including the following areas, Alleghany VA, Amherst, Appomattox, Bath, Bedford, Bland, Botetourt, Buckingham, Campbell, Carroll, Charlotte, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Grayson, Halifax, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Pulaski, Roanoke, Rockbridge, Smyth, Tazewell and Wythe, and southeast West Virginia, including the following areas, Eastern Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, Summers and Western Greenbrier. * WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
