...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Virginia, including the following area, Norfolk/Portsmouth. * WHEN...From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening. A very moist airmass and strong instability suggests high rainfall rates of 2-4" per hour will be possible.
