At 129 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Intelligence, or near Madison, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Eden... Reidsville... Wentworth... Mayodan... Madison... Yanceyville... and Stoneville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of north central North Carolina, including the following counties, Rockingham and Stokes and Virginia, including the following counties, Henry and Patrick. * WHEN...Until 415 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 111 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Big Beaver Island Creek, Bassett Branch, Bull Run, Baker Branch, Bull Mountain Fork, Crooked Creek, Anglin Branch, Dan River, Buffalo Creek and Blackberry Creek.
