Special Weather Statement
Issued: 6:47 PM Nov. 4, 2025 – National Weather Service
...INCREASED FIRE DANGER IN EFFECT LATE WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY EVENING... The combination of southwesterly winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts to 25 to 35 mph, relative humidity levels between 30 and 35 percent, and dry fuels will lead to increased fire danger across the central Virginia piedmont, from 11 am to 6 pm. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Residents are urged to exercise caution handling any potential ignition source...including machinery... cigarettes...and matches. Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses and tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread quickly.
