At 12.0 feet, The C&O Canal overflows at the Great Falls Tavern. Water covers the towpath in many areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 4.7 feet, or 5.3 feet below flood stage. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow morning to a crest of 11.8 feet tomorrow evening.
