For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 108 expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, eastern, north central, south central, and southeast Virginia. * WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 11 AM to 7 PM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles.
